Department of Chemistry and Physics. Current research spans
the breadth of chemistry, including research in the areas of
biological chemistry, environmental chemistry, inorganic
chemistry, organic chemistry, materials chemistry, physical
chemistry, theoretical nuclear physics, and biophysics.
Specialized areas such as bioinorganic chemistry,
biophysical chemistry, organometallic chemistry, aqueous
geochemistry, biogeochemistry, physical organic chemistry,
synthesis, surface chemistry, and chemical physics are also
