Welcome
Welcome from the faculty, staff and students of the
Department of Chemistry and Physics at Arkansas State
University. The Department is home to
22 faculty and a group of dedicated support staff, students
and postdoctoral associates in all areas of chemistry and physics.
Many of our colleagues
hold joint or associate appointments with the Departments of
Biology,
Engineering,
Environmental Science,
and/or the Arkansas
Biosciences Institute. Outstanding in-house instrumental facilities, such
as the Laser Spectroscopy Laboratory, Allen Materials Science
Laboratory, and the Water-Rock-Life Laboratory help to provide
a stimulating research environment. Our faculty and
students also do research in the Arkansas Biosciences Institute,
an 82,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility that provides
much of the housing for our two PhD programs ((molecular
bioscience and environmental science).
Whether you are a prospective student, alumnus, or just a
friend, please take a few minutes to explore our web site,
where you will find information on our research, educational
program, and instrumental support and external service
facilities. Above all, feel free to contact us if there is anything
with which you need help.
