Listerine FreshBurst Antiseptic Mouthwash kills germs that cause bad breath,
plaque, and the gum disease gingivitis. This product should be rinsed
in the mouth for 30 seconds with 20 ml every morning and night. In
case of accidental ingestion, seek professional assistance or contact a
Poison Control Center immediately. Active Ingredients of Listerine
include thymol, eucalyptol, methyl salicylate, and menthol.

Thymol is described as large, colorless, translucent crystals of the hexagonal
system that have an aromatic, thyme-like odor, and a pungent, aromatic
taste. Thymol is used as an antiseptic, local anesthetic, cooling
agent, and as a preservative. It acts as a local irritant and
anesthetic to the skin and mucous membrane. It is found in liniments,
lip balms, toothpaste, and mouthwash. It is not compatible
with strong oxidizing agents, organic materials, or strong bases.
Thymol is harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin.
It is an eye, skin, and respiratory irritant.
Synonyms include: 6-isopropyl-m-cresol,
3-hydroxy-p-cymene, isopropyl cresol, 2-isopropyl-5-methylphenol
