Vasotec (enalapril maleate)
Enalapril
belongs to the ACE inhibitor group of vasodilator drugs prescribed to treat
hypertension and heart failure. It is often given in conjunction with a
diuretic to increase its effect. The first dose of enalapril may cause
a sudden drop in blood pressure. The more common adverse effects such as
dizziness and headache usually diminish with long-term treatment but usually
disappear when the drug is stopped and in some cases, clear up on their
own without stopping the treatment.
