Antidepressant

    Fluoxetine(Prozac) is an antidepressant used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bulima nervosa, and some cases of panic disorder.  Fluoxetine blocks the neuronal uptake of serotonin, but not of noreninephrine, into human platelets in the CNS.  Fluoxetine is 95% bound to serum proteins. Fluoxetine is orally administered by tablets:10mg, capsules: 10mg, 20mg, and 40mg, capsules-delayed release 90mg, and liquid: 20mg/5ml.  Side effects which could occur while taking Fluoxetine are upset stomach, drowsiness, tiredness, insomnia, and dry mouth.  While taking Fluoxetine, do not let anyone else take your medication and ask your pharmacist about refilling your prescription.
