Sodium Chloride
NaCl
NaCl, salt, is essential to all life. It has
many
different
uses. Sodium Chloride plays a part in disinfecting contact lenses.
It helps to kill germs and prevent infections. Saline solution
is nothing more than a sterile salt solution. This rinses away other
solutions that might be on the lenses. It also cleans the lenses
in a heating system. Saline is used to store the lenses. Soaking
of the lenses helps to restore moisture.
