    Vitamin B12 plays a vital role in fat and carbohydrate metabolism, as well as protein synthesis.  Vitamin B12 is necessary for the production of genetic material.  It also aids in the formation of red blood cells & is necessary to keep blood cells functioning normally.  Vitamin B12 aids in the proper functioning of all body, brain, and nerve cells.

Vitamin B12 Deficiency

   A deficiency of vitamin B12 has been associated with with asthma, depression, AIDS, multiple sclerosis, tinnitus, diabetic neuropathy, and low sperm counts. Also, many patients suffering from Alzheimer's Disease exhibit a low level of vitamin B12.
